Course Objectives

The close protection advanced course is intended for CP Operatives who want to progress in the private security industry as a CP Team leader. The course covers the knowledge, practise, understanding and skills that are relevant to the role of a close protection team leader.

• Legislation that is relevant to security/close protection
• The roles and responsibilities of a close protection operative
• The importance of the threat assessment and risk management
• Venue security operations/silver service
• Planning and briefing
• Weapon training
• Vehicle driving drills
• Walking drills
• Control and restraint

Meeting the criteria of the course by

• A written test
• Practical task assessment/ongoing through the course
• Operatives must pass both parts to achieve the course
