Getting Licensed

To be able to work in a frontline position within the Security Industry it is now the Law that you are trained and licensed. Please visit our Security Training Section to learn about the training. We recommend that you apply to The SIA for your application form whilst you are undergoing your training.

The cost of an SIA licence is £245, this is payable once you have completed your training and obtained your training certificate, you then send your completed application form to The SIA with your £245 licence fee.

Procurement

We recommend that businesses employing ‘Contracted Out’ security staff should only use companies with ‘Approved Contractor Status’ who can be identified on the SIA’s web site.

We will be issuing the latest alert classifications for terrorist threats as issued by the country’s security services.
