Close Protection Training
UK requirements for close protection have been increasing and we are seeing increasing demand for close protection training. As we outline on our close protection services page, we do not believe in heavy handed bodyguards, who often attract attention rather than deflect it.
Our close protection training reflects this: training operatives to understand the importance of risk assessments, route or event planning, venue screening and contingency preparation. With police and military experience, our trainers offer professionalism and discretion as well as operational expertise in close protection.
Edexcel Level 3 BTEC
15-day course (150 hours) Nationally recognised SIA Approved Level 3 Close Protection course, RST are ideally located in Central London (West End). This course can be either residential or not, depending on your circumstances. All our trainers are highly experienced in this area and have either Military or Police backgrounds
The course covers both theoretical and practical exercises. It covers the 3 elements of planning, briefing and execution. It is mapped against BTEC Level 3 Award in Close Protection Operations:
Unit 1) Skills and Team Work in Close Protection
Unit 2) Legislation, Communications and Conflict Management Skills
Unit 3) Risk Assessment, Planning and Route Selection
Unit 4) Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Incidents and Dilemmas
Unit 5) Techniques for Close Protection Officers

Optional 4-Day Course in France
For those wishing to extend their range of skills we offer an additional 4 day module immediately after the course examination in London, where we take you to the South of France with the option of firearms, defensive driving and control & restraint training.
Cost - £695 (Exc VAT) This price includes all flights, accommodation and all meals.

3 Day Refresher Training
All modules covered
Proof of previous qualifications (APL)
Proof of all courses completed to date (CPD)
A 4 day (HSE recognised) first aid at work qualification is required before you can apply for the licence
Confirmation/Documentation that you have been operational in the CP industry since your initial course is required prior to your place being booked on the course.
